If I have matching flashes for my clan kilts I wear them, usually. But sometimes I wear a complimentry color just to be different. Also I just learned that my spelling is worse than normal after 10 fluid ounces of Speyburn single malt.

I should never combine tartan flashes or any flashes with a utility kilt type. But just my opinion.

Frankly, (said Frank) I wouldn't even bother getting tartan flashes with any new kilt. I did with my first one (based on the little I knew then!) but now I only use the self-ties, usually keyed to pick up a minor colour in the tartan, or else just red because... because they're red.

Exactly. By the way, if you tie them extra tight and your legs get overheated as a result, you can then call them "hot flashes."
