About the tartan, yes that's the very gig for which I would love to have a burgundy & grey kilt. I just wear the kilt I always have, Drummond of Perth Muted HOE, which has a somewhat darkish red.
Funny about their school colours, the grey is always shown as a steel-grey, that is, a rather light grey, but the red can vary from maroon to claret to nearly a straight red (the latter can be seen painted on the ground in front of me).
Anyhow I have an Auld Scotland kilt which isn't quite finished which should be fairly good for these gigs.
