HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in Toronto

This weekend, HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh was in Toronto to present the Royal Canadian Regiment with new regimental colours. After that there was a parade to Fort York where there was a ceremony commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of York. This is me with the parade behind me. It was a great day!

Looking good Nathan. Glad to see HRH Prince Phillip here, was worried for him as he has not been feeling as well as we are used to.
It seems to be better now, hope he takes care.

Did you get to meet HRH Prince Phillip, he has a great sense of humour and is very quick witted, just an all round nice person.

I have been attempting to come up with a smart alec quip about this, but find it impossible. The Battle of York was not exactly a high point in American/Canadian history.
Zebulon Pike was also killed in this battle.

Thanks, I found the jacket on Craigslist and it fits like a bespoke garment. I didn't get to meet him because I was simply a spectator. I only got this close.

A friend of mine posted a bunch of pics of the parade on facebook, which unfortunately I can't share because they are private. There were a number of regimental pipe bands looking awesome in their finery. You look good too, Nathan!

I'm jealous of your fine tweed wearing weather. It was definitely a no tweed zone in Woodland this weekend. I particularly like your vest.

    Thanks for the compliments, everyone!

Colin, I got some shots of the parade but there was a guy taking pictures in most of my shots so they need some cropping. I'll post some mosre as that gets completed. here's a shot of the 48th Highlanders in the foreground with the Toronto Scottish Regiment in the background.
