World wide tuxedos is being sold
While I hate to sound like Chicken Little, I thought I ought to warn everyone.
I JUST (around 2:30 pm) got off the phone with Tom, himself, after tracking down a jacket for my husband. The way I found out that he's trying to sell the business is that he was telling me that he could also get a "Spencer" jacket for my son, and that if I bought both at the same time, he would cut me a break on the price of my son's jacket. I was forced to say that, even for a discounted price, I had a bead on an actual Scottish coat & vest for him*, & would rather go with that, but I wouldn't know for sure until the next day, Friday at the latest (communication delays). Tom (yes, it was Tom!) was very gracious & understanding about that, but just wanted to let me know that he had someone coming in to look at the entire inventory!!

Now, I know that this does not automatically mean that they'll stop being a great resource, but, if anyone has been putting off a purchase, s/he ought to go to their site now, just in case.
(MyOwnTuxedo.com is still in business!)
*In other news, I heard back from Heritage of Scotland, and - as I was hoping - they suddenly had a jacket/vest in my son's size, even if they hadn't put it on their eBay site

I hope World Wide Tuxedos hangs in there. I bought a Spencer jacket years ago from them, replaced the buttons with celtic ones and saved a significant chunk of change.....
