Both this tweed jacket, which I altered for wear with a kilt, and this turtleneck are thrift store finds.

I found these dress (leather sole) ghillie brogues at a thrift shop for $15. They fit me perfectly and were barely used. I added the buckles later.

These posts have inspired me to visit the local thrift shop while taking lunch today!

I'm going to look for enough tweed to make a Tam. Cool weather this weekend and I'll be outside at the Alma Highland Festival (http://www.almahighlandfestival.com/).
A big thanks to brewerpaul for the pattern and instructions!

This is the Harris Tweed jacket I found in a local thrift shop for 10 USD last year. It was in great shape and fit me perfectly. I sent it to VMac and she made it into what you see here for a VERY reasonable price...

    Great finds people!

To follow Panache's lead here is a herringbone Ralph Lauren ladies' jacket. I love the zipper pockets and buckle at the collar. I think it would look nice with a pleated tartan skirt. I got it after reading the thread about houndstooth and herringbone kilt jackets.... plus I love almost everything by the Lauren company. I think it was either 4 or 5 dollars.

A rather nice wool jacket for $4.50 that received a little cosmetic surgery.

I splurged last week and picked up a great plaid wool sport coat by some guy named Calvin for $9. It will be getting the same treatment, with, hopefully, a bit better execution on my part.

My husband would love that look, he tends to favor the the grey tartans. Looking forward to seeing the Calvin redo. We have yet to find a jacket to redo for hubby.
