Any bonus points for actually being able to see beads of perspiration and shirt sticking?

Absolutely. And if your shirt is untucked and your socks are sagging, it won't bother me in the slightest.

In case people haven't figured this out yet, I occasionally put up these challenges to get pictures of guys in kilts DOING things. We see an awful lot of pictures of guys in kilts standing there. "Here I am, in my kilt". That's great, I'm all for those pictures, too. However, I'm a LOT more interested in what you all DO, than in what you WEAR while you're doing it. This is, after all, a forum about kilts, so how about pictures of you DOING whatever it is that you DO, while you have a kilt on? The thing is, if I don't emphasize the "activity" part of the event, we'll get another 30 pictures of guys standing around in their kilts, and I am loathe to assume that all that the vast majority of X Markers do all day, every day is stand around.

A good one this challenge. Ill add a few here starting with this past winter snow.

A good hike in the white wet stuff. We had about 20 inches and again we had 9 inches so it was piled up on the trails. You definitely break sweat hiking in knee deep snow.

Yep lots of snow. Walked home from work to find my car and drive and street like this.

On with the barn boots and grab the shovel

You would think I was having fun,, heck I was.

At least I could find my car now.

    Last summer trail running.

Me dancing the night away...always works up a brilliant sweat!!!

Okay Alan, so I am standing in this photo, but it was a rather brief pause during a rather strenous "stroll" through knee deep heather, bog and burns in and around the hills of Badenoch. I was dead tired and completely soaked underneath that woolen jumper!

To be honest, I don't do much sweating in my kilts, apart from the occasional hike. I feel bad sometimes for being one of those folks around here who endlessly discusses the minutiae of THCD and often post pics of myself just posing to show off an outfit because I know this drives poor Alan to distraction. As my way of making it up to him, I accepted this months challenge.

My usual workout is Chinese kung fu and the uniform down at the club most definitely does not involve a kilt! Here's a few pics of me working up a sweat at home in my Sportkilt while practising on my wooden dummy. I hope this doesn't break any forum rules

    Just the hands moving:

    Stepping around for another move:

    In between moves:

I couldn't resist one posed photo, but my excuse is that this one shows my sweatiness the best

To be honest, a kilt isn't that great for this kind of workout because of the kicking, which I had the decency NOT to take pics of Still, it was kind of fun for a lark

If I wanted to do more working out in a kilt, I think it would be more fun to do some Scottish backhold wrestling. Does anyone know of a group in the Toronto area?

I was tempted to throw a picture or two up here, but I don't sweat. I glow stinkily.

And Colin: I'm digging those monkstrap brogues.

yes, they're the correct, proper, and traditional footwear choice when practising "kilted kung fu"

But seriously, you should post some stinky glow pictures. I don't think the OP would somehow disallow them for a lack of sweat...

    That is bluidy AWESOME!

Hey ecklarkb is looking to do some backhold wrestling in Scotland next year. He's a Brazilian jiu-jitsu green belt, and they do a lot of floor work, not so much upright, but still. I bet he'll do well. I'm thinking that some basic Judo training would do a fellow well, if he wanted to try some backhold.

Purple belt Alan! :-) In Brazilian Jui-jitsu Green belts are typically for kids only, adults are White-Blue-Purple-Brown-Black, which is usually about a 10 year journey.

And yes, judo would help with backhold wrestling, there's several judokan's who have gone to Scotland & tried backhold wrestling. The biggest difference obviously is the grips & the fact that with backhold wrestling whoever hits the ground first loses. so there's quite a bit of technique & skill around twisting yourself in the air (like a cat) & getting your feet under you to make the other guy hit the ground first. But with that said, all the hip & foot work from judo would help a lot.

And the kilted kung fu pictures are cool!
