    Kilt compliment

Yesterday I was at the hospital picking up my wife, after a brief (12 hours) stay for minor dehydration. She had a minor intestinal bug, and that with her blood pressure medication caused dehydration. Anyway, while I was going to get our vehicle riding down in the elevator I met a man and his wife, who complimented me on my kilt. At the time I was wearing my SWK Leatherneck. They both made reference to their heritage (Irish). The gentleman told me that he used to wear the McKenzie tartan. He was a member of the Seaforth Highlanders Canada. I took their compliments very highly.

I love it how kilts bring folks out socially to initiate conversations...I've met so many neat folks while kilted that wouldn't have given me a second look - let alone approach me - if I were wearing jeans.

I agree completely with that Ron. The added side benefit is that many of them are young and attractive !

As a black guy with dreadlocks in London, I have found it very amusing how wearing a kilt is the ultimate ice-breaker. Girls do tend to notice more than guys though (and surely that's a good thing) and even had a complete stranger stop me and ask to take my picture to show her boyfriend!
