    Special Sale - Two-toned garters

I have managed to accumulate a number of garter ties featuring a two-toned fringe, which I do not have a need for. These are all brand new and never worn. From left to right, I have five pair of the dark natural/natural (brown), two pair of the mustard/loden, three pair of the loden/brick red, and one pair each of the bracken/mustard and brick red/moss. $15 each while they last.

    UPDATE with current numbers available:
    dk natural: 0
    mustard/loden: 0
    loden/brick red: 0
    bracken/mustard: 0
    brick red/moss: 0

    Fantastic deal here, Matt!

As many of you are aware, I recently sold several pairs of House of Cheviot chessboard style shooting socks/kilt hose on the forum. The socks came complete with the same style of two-toned, traditional garter ties. These garter ties are very well made, the colours are even better in person and they add that wee bit of flare to your Highland wardrobe. I highly recommend them!

A couple of questions, if I may Matt ?. Has the color "Loden" changed in the last couple of years ? It seems much more blue than my two year old Loden colored hose. And, the Dark Naturals look to be more charcoal and white vs. the chocolate brown of previous "Dark natural" or is it just the photo? Oddly enough, the bracken, mustard, and brick red look right from here compared with my hose in those colors. Let me know, I would be interested in the Loden/red if in fact it is a bluer shade as my monitor shows.

    Thanks,
    Brooke

It may be just a trick of the light in the photo. The dark natural is very definitely brown and not charcoal. The loden color has not changed that I am aware of. Though House of Cheviot does have two colors -- loden and dark loden. The dark loden is (as the name suggests) much darker.

Not knowing if the hose you have are loden or dark loden I can't really say if the garters will match. But if they are loden, then these garters should match well enough. Keep in mind there can be some minor color variation in yarn stocks over the years, but even if it is not a spot-on match, given the fact that all you will see when worn are the tassels, which are blended with another color anyway, I would think they would be close enough.

I was actually hoping the loden was a bit bluer than normal and the natural more charcoal, as it appears to be in the picture. Not that the other way around is a bad thing

Judging by the shadows, it looks like you might have two different types of light (at two different temperatures) at the top and left. That might account for the shift in white-balance.
