This ranting lunatic has been around for a long while and I'm not surprised his vile bilge is still on the net.

The problem with BLIND faith is it leaves no room for reason and logic. Literal application of any part of any of the series of "good books" to the contemporary world just seems to manifest in hate and intolerance. A most dangerous thing.

It's not the nice people that makes me turn away from religion, it's the plethora of nutters and fanatics who insist their way is the only TRUE way and will go to (in some cases) extreme lengths to ensure that their message is communicated effectively to the non-believers, and by that I mean anyone who doesn't follow exactly their twisted versions of the truth.

Fortunately this idiot is one of the milder examples of this mindset. His issues are merely racism, sexism, homophobia and religious intolerance rather than a burning desire to take life. But the absence of reasoned argument and reliance on selected scripture, the sense of superiority, the judgemental attitude and utter condemnation of his chosen targets, all of which may or may not conceal or suppress hidden personal yearnings perceived by him as perverse or weak, makes it all much of a muchness. This chap clearly knows his Bible well, but he doesn't demonstrate that he actually understands it.

Periods of my life seem to have been infested with these wild-eyed bigots so I shun them now, as I also shun their religions. I also don't believe in Santa or the tooth fairies incidentally. Logic tells me it can't be so.

Before this post is cast into the naughty corner, It's not about religion. I am not trying to denigrate those with faith. Those who accept that all people are different and can exercise tolerance and compassion toward their fellow man are a genuine force for good. The survival of our culture and freedoms depend on their perpetuating this ethos. Whether that is through religion or not, matters not, providing the basic premise of live and let live, do as you would be done by, agree to disagree, do unto others.. (however you wish to word it) is conveyed.

With regard to Mr Stewart's rabid musings, I'm only trying to analyse (for the sake of debate) what would motivate someone to churn out such irrefutable nonsense. How an individual can be so blind to geographical, historical and scientific evidence when formulating such an abhorrent theory is completely beyond me. I draw comparison with extremists because HIS attitude is where extremism starts... in my experience.

Apparently, all the Roman soldiers around in biblical times were a bunch of sissies. I hope this guy doesn't have children who manage to get away from his views and control. I would love to be a fly on the wall when a child of his shows up wearing a kilt in honor of the Stewart heritage.
