That's all the reason you need for anything .
Also - don't worry about social stigma .
If you have the rare person who won't do business or or hire you because your jewelry does not meet their standards then they will really freak out when they find out you like kilts !
Aye! I'll try to make this long story short: When my grandson (whom we raised) decided he wanted to join the Navy, he had to have his ears surgically "corrected." He had had ear plugs as a rock band member. Not my cup of tea, but he has always been a really good kid. Just before he went off for training duty, he suggested that I might lighten up a bit (actually it was more like pull the pole out of my a**). I agreed to let my beard and hair grow out while he was in the Navy and I had my left ear pierced where I wore a gold shackle earring (very nautical "tradition"). A year later and a lot more hair and beard, I got the other ear pierced so I could also wear "port and starboard (red left, green right) earrings." Now he has decided to make the Navy his career and is a candidate for a commission -- and heaven knows how long my hair and beard may become. ' Can't even see my earrings anymore! Oh yes, no one seems to notice or care, although everyone notices the kilt!
