Hank, as someone who has had a few posts deleted, I would like to chime in. I have been involved in a few heated conversations, particularly regarding certain kilt accessories, and censorship. I was a little disappointed that these posts or threads were frozen or deleted, but it is you forum, and I now agree with that course of action. In both those cases all parties involved were too engroosed in our own points of view. While I do agree with Alaskan that some of these issues do need to be resolved by the parties involved, it is not fair to the rest of the members to have to wait for us to be the adults that we all are.
One of the issues with moderation on this site that I see is not with you Hank, but with ourselves. A few months ago Alaskan posted a thread asking that we respect our people's posts and threads. I we do not agree with the subject matter (be it religion, politics, body art, etc) that we not add a negative comment to that thread. I could not agree more. Too often we just want to add our voice (some of us more than others ) and we post our disapproval for a subject matter. This is simply adding fuel to the fire, and will eventually cause someone to respond to your comment. If you don't agree with something, or you don't find it interesting, skip over it, and don't feel that you need to add your 2 cents. I know that there will be different opinions on any subject matter, but some times to maintain the peace we have to be the bigger people and just ignore it. I will use a recent example a new member has join (sorry JazzKiltz!) and introduced themselves. This thread has turned into a common appreciation for jazz lovers. I am not fond of jazz (just my opinion), but instead of voicing that opinon in that thread, I have decided to just skip that post and move on to the next on.
In regards to your photos Jimmy, I had a good laugh, but seeing as how the majority of us seem to be a passionate bunch, the photos may have offended someone (via religion, personal beliefs, etc). I hope you will not keep your presense on the board over something so stupid. Pour yourself a pint, light a smoke and just chill out a bit. We need your humour in defusing some situations.
Sorry, a bit of a rant here.
