In keeping with tradition, XMarkers will meet at the Scottish Tartans Museum booth at noon on Saturday for a group photo and good tidings for all. Hopefully this won't be a self portrait.

I'll be there again this year wrangling food for the Montreat pipe band. The current forecast for the weekend is looking much better than it did earlier in the week, but definitely bring your rain gear and rubber boots. :-)

Indeed. I think after tonight the forecast is looking good...as long as the tropical storm keeps dying out, we may be sunny the whole weekend. However, that doesn't change the fact that we have received 40% of our annual total rainfall in the past 3 weeks. So it's going to be soggy. Hope to see some of you there!

Leaving to go up the mountain now. Bringing the wellies and the Inverness cape. Will look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday at noon at the Museum tent. I'll be at the MacMillan tent. Stop by and say hi.

Wish we could be there this year, David! One day soon, I'm sure.
Actually, there just may be more and more Highland games and gatherings we'll be attending throughout North Carolina, since my wife and I are seriously entertaining the idea of moving back to our former home (whilst serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, as you are well aware of, David). Wilmington is our ideal choice, but there really isn't a NLRB Regional Office there, so we may have to settle on Raleigh-Durham/Chapel Hill area. We shall see!
Enjoy the games, safe travels and hopefully it isn't too rainy!
Cheers,

If I were not stuck having to cover for someone at work I would be on my way today. Oh well we will be headed that way tomorrow evening.

I am sure this year will be the same. I have just finished a new waist coat today for the occasion.
I do plan on having some fun but a portion of my time will be dedicated to meetings on clan business.

We just returned from the Opening Ceremony. The rain held off and despite some technical difficulties, it was quite nice. The representative from the Gordons offered a meaningful tribute to Turpin. Sir Malcolm MacGregor was there as a representative for his clansmen. I am always impressed by his dedication to encouraging Scottish culture among the Diaspora.
Anybody else there?
