Turpin will indeed be missed. As late as March we were planning to attend, although not to camp and that alone almost broke his heart, he loved GFMG camping. I so enjoyed being on the mountain last year, wet though it was, that I was looking forward to this year with him. It just wouldn't be the same for me without him.

    Anybody else there?
I was there! I loved John Ferguson's opening, that the Fergusons were there to make sure no English boots touched the soil! hahah! Donald and Cheryl and John were lovely hosts today, we very much caused not so too much trouble! It's bloody pouring tonight, so let's hope it dries out by tomorrow or the wellies have to go up with me again P.S. Donald wore no kilt today. I feel as though I must out him for this, even though he and Cheryl took me for dinner! hahaha! I do honestly believe that any people that miss GMHG are crackpots. It's absolutely amazing!!!

Hey it was great meeting everyone at the games. (David it was good to talk to you during the torchlight ceremony. I appreciate the assistance with the historic soliloquy. ) I wish I could have had some time to talk more with everyone. I appreciate you guys coming over to the Clan tent for the XMarks photo...we were one family deep but the wife and little girl did FANTASTIC for our FIRST Clan tent ever. The wife really got into it and was making plans for improvements as we were driving back today from Hurricane Caber up on the mountain...not kidding we took a few hours drying stuff out today. (Side note: Anyone know of a good cleaner to take a kilt to in Fayetteville, NC???) I will try and post some of my pics up next week when I get a chance.

The pic below is a view of the mountain from my deck. The clouds have completely covered Grandfather. We never saw the entire mountain during our stay due to clouds/fog/precipitation. But I have to say I'll take cooler weather over hotter any day. Had a great time!
