Well done, Jock. And thank you. This forum would be a much poorer place without your wit, wisdom, and sense of humour.

Simon summed it up perfectly for me, but a simple "Aye" just wouldn't do. So my friend, thank you so very much for taking the time to share your wisdom and experience on this topic that is obviously so dear to your heart. Your contributions here have greatly enriched my knowledge and experience of the kilt, and the culture of your great land.
A great BIG heartfelt thank you Jock Scot! I look forward to reading the next 10,000.
Highest regards,
Brooke

Thank you Jock for all your contributions, especially those we might not agree with, because they are all opportunities for us to hear and perhaps appreciate another's point of view. Also thanks for the addition to the lexicon of the verb 'to jock' and the thorough explanation of the process it describes. To you I doff my:-
Akubra
2013 Lions tour cap (you won't like the shape, but it's gold, so we must disagree I fear)
Flat cap
D/|\D beret
Kaffiyeh
Lady Chrystel blue bonnet
Possum fur beanie from NZ - so light, so warm
Kemal Ataturk hat (tourist tat, I know, but I bought it at Gallipoli, so it's grand!)
Mortarboard
Flat cap (sorry, I've got two)
Caving helmet
Shetland beanie
All the Brumbies supporters caps I've collected over the years
and the Glengarry and Balmoral I hope to buy from Piobair.
Well done that man!

Well OK Jock, say something to mark the occasion other than it seems that I have had far too much time on my hands and should have been busy shooting something or catching something other than a cold. Well its true I suppose that if I dared to add up the time spent on this website it would add up to a frighteningly long time and on the whole I don't begrudge a second of it.
Its been fun, enlightening, humbling, yes annoying at times, there have been great moments and I am afraid to say, some sad, very sad moments too . People have come and gone, some have stayed, some I don't seem to get along with too well and I am fortunate that I have made some very good friends here that I would have never come across outwith this wonderful website. So, just like life really and I intend to make as much of that as I possibly can!
Yes, we should be planning on shooting something!

Jock.....Sincerest Congrats! While I don't always agree with your opinions (although generally I probably do), I always respect them and enjoy your dry wit!
Cheers...Bill

Congratulations Jock for a significant milestone. This site simply would not be the same without your views which whether always agreed to by everyone (who ever had that distinction?) nevertheless always provide a valuable and valued perspective. I look forward to your next 10K posts!

This is a notable occasion and marks the significance of your contributions to this forum. I, for one, value your insights and ruminations and have learned a lot from your postings. You truly are the "Guardian of THCD" on this site.
Thank you,
Nile
Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
