To Jamie especially, I send my most grateful thanks for his kind thought and generous gesture, and to everyone else my thanks for your kind messages.
To share a birthday with Jamie is an honour and a privilege and I apologise for the delay in writing to thank him, and the rest of you, my friends. Sadly, perhaps, I do not visit XMTS as often as I used to - in fact I do not use my computer as much as I used to; sometimes no more than twice a week, if that! Nowadays, it seems to take all my time just to deal with the basics of daily life.
Kilt wearing is something I do every day without giving it much thought (I still have not worn t------s or s----s for over 14 years), although I do my best to make a good impression whenever I venture forth from Bicknell Grange, and I am still complimented on my appearance by strangers I meet. The kilt is, of course, a special and unique garment, but I confess to thinking of it now in the same way as I would a pair of socks - it is clothing and one wears it. If this sounds like sacrilege I assure you it is not intentional - it is just how it is, so I make no fuss about it and am seldom moved to write about it.
With renewed thanks to Jamie and my kilted friends at XMTS.........
Take care,
Ham.
