My spicy flavoured set casts a little doubt but I think they would be UK made if only because of the cost that exporting and re-importing the fabric would entail. I suspect they must be made in a factory with lots of cheap, "transient" labour available. The communication I got blamed the extended wait on their 'tailors' being inundated with orders.

As they have a 'best offer' on ebay going, it wouldn't be ethical for me to reveal the exact price on the forum (especially since I got a further discount) but as a general rule on ebay, if you think in terms of 85% of the asking price as a target you're on the right track. Start lower, since you get 3 attempts to make an acceptable offer.

Now that's interesting, I paid the full asking price for mine, but I did not want the standard jacket, I asked for Braemar cuffs and no epaulets, which they were happy to do, the fabric is MM Cairngorme 16oz Loden Crag which Tom and I both investigated previously. I know I could have offered less but as they were making it slightly differently I didn't quibble.

OCR that is indeed the jacket set in question.

I've never had any luck with those 'best offer' listings. I've made various offers on various things and never got a response from the sellers.

Yeah, that's happened to me too on some bids but T4L were fairly prompt. Best if you can make the offer during their open hours I suppose. Doesn't hurt and if a company doesn't bother to respond to an offer, it gives me an insight into what their communication with customers is really like.

Ebay feedback is not to be believed since many companies effectively 'bribe' unhappy customers into changing feedback. Fair enough, amends are made but the next customer is left open to the same issues.

That's a pretty sweet jacket. I'd seen them on eBay and wondered what the quality and service was like at that price... even with the hassles people have experienced, I'd say they are still a good deal!
