Ha!
Took a day away from the salt mines and was working on the old Cherokee. Needed a tailgate lift cylinder and some varied fluids...
...KILTED TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE!
5/11 TDK in khaki and Hawaiian print shirt (of WW II bombers over palm trees), deck shoes, no socks, it was 90+ F in metro Chicago.
So, shopped, sniffed at local Auto Zone...no one asked or said anything...
...except an elderly lady apparently with two 30s-something grandchildren. Surreptitiously whispering, trying not to be TOO shocked...
..."Trevvor, that man is wearing a dress."
"It's a kilt, Grandma."
Smile and nod, finish paying, depart.
Bravo Tango Whiskey; Grandma was wearing blue jeans.

Here's my first contribution. Kilted Thursday, actually.
Also, unfortunately, my last for a while, as my job has been outsourced and this was my last day in the office.

SR, looking like you have the day by the tail! One of my gg grannies was a Mcrae. Kangaroo sporran, eh! Well, I have a couple of pesky squirrels who would make some nice change purses.
Wearing my Newsome box pleat in the St. Columba tartan at work. Tonight I head to the Céilidh at our local brewery the Blue & Grey. Need to update my avatar and yours has given me the thought to follow suit with my Spitfire. See how tomorrow goes.

A Spitfire! I always liked the Triumph Spitfire, but the nice ones were always out of my price range. I'm not sorry I chose the MX5, though!

Indeed you should not! My Spitfire is older than you and your MX5 is the car that the Triumph could never be. I did very well on winning the auction; paying probably less than half of its value.
An epilogue on my Kilted Friday; tonight at the brewery as I was headed back to my table coming from the loo, a lass stops me to ask what tartan my kilt is. I tell her it’s the St. Columba tartan and give her a 45 second history lesson and my surname tie to the name.
Later in leaving, I am walking to my car and car coming down the street slows and the driver window comes down. What is this I thought? The driver asks “is that a Newsome box pleat?” Yes, I reply. He comments, I thought it was as I looked at it when you told the lady about the tartan. I’m Fr. Mahoney and have a Newsome box pleat in the St. Ninian tartan.
Life is not what you expect!
