Its actually leather. And the half way between long hair and short dressy sporran is what I wanted.....If I commission another sporran....I'll ask them to deepen the pouch...it's about 1 1/2 inch shorter than what I normally like.

Colour me surprised given the nature of their other.....dare I call them such....creations. A damned fine sporran you got there! Might have to consider ordering a custom piece from them now.

It looks great on you. I'd wear that without hesitation however it does look like the decorative cantle, which is very impressive by the way, the hairy bit and the fastening knot at the back have been 'grafted' onto the body of a standard off the rack sporran. Nothing wrong with that mind, I think your end result looks terrific but it doesn't appear to be 100% made from scratch.... If they are using standard sporran bodies and you are thinking of commissioning future sporrans, it might be difficult for them to do the gusset you're after. Still. It does look good when worn.

The sporran looks nice! The leather looks to be high quality. The only thing I think is possibly missing is a few tassels to set off or accentuate the hair color. But, never the less, a very good looking sporran.

That's cool! I've been waiting to see if your sporran was going to turn out as something that can actually be worn in public, rather than being an object of derision...
