I was just rereading your original post and made an interesting connection. When I wear a sporran, to hold my wallet, coin and other small items, I have it on my hip, as I find the front position not the best for movement. It seems the natural thing to do.

I have been looking for a belt bag that is affordable, yet celtic(?).

The Tartan Web has some nice period ones, but I would have to remortgage the house to afford them.
