Oh, so nice! (mixed ramblings with Mr.Teacher)

Thanks to the encouragement from this forum and it's illustrious members ( especially Blu, who has been a particular encouragement to me) I can say that I feel more wonderfully free and bold to wear the kilt now more than ever before.

Not long ago I would sit in my truck and wait till cars passed before i got out in case a passing car would see me in a kilt. I would park as CLOSE to a business I had to visit so i wouldn't have to walk in public kilted.

What a complete twit I was!!

Now I park far away so I can walk and allow our townsfolk the pleasure of seeing me kilted.
I love to take every opportunity to be seen in a kilt for the pure delight (what an ego the guy has!!).

I love to be kilted - that's all there is to it. To be kilted is pure joy.

    Today:
I had a "wolf whistle" from a local lass who runs a vegetable and fruit shop (see, it's not just Glen who gets it!) she said she liked my legs, I joked that I would tell my wife she said so!

Tonight I attended a parent meeting at our local Christian School. The guest speaker was a Welshman, who sat next to me and introduced himself as "a fellow Celt".
He asked about my kilt, I just said I wear it because it is the ultimate in comfort and healthy 'wiv it!

I secretly pitied that lad for not standing up in one of the fine Welsh tartans to speak (right Derek?) and showing the welsh heritage he has.

I addition to installing a sign (kilted) for a client who has a Scottish husband and loves to see me in a kilt...that was my day!

Yes Graham, I'm with you, I find that when I am wearing a kilt, I stride with more confidence.

Also, in the world of non-conformity it's great to be kilted.

What can I say Graham. I'm only a lowly part-timer.

You do know that I won't be that for much longer when the package comes.....

Well at least I'll be less part-time...

    Now Graham,

When you get that much attention, compliments, whistles, and joy from this, do you really want to see kilts become as common as trousers are??

    Delightful post!

My neighbors across the street have a teenaged son who is learning guitar. He's heard me play and asked me to teach him a few tricks.

His mother thinks I'm a skirt-wearing freak and won't let the kid near me.

    That, I can do without.

Graham ... I wish your speaker had worn a welsh kilt as well. Maybe he is unaware that the welsh kilts and are becoming more popular again. Did you get to speak to him? Where was he from in Wales? Derek

    Graham,

We are all a bunch of non conformists here, I find kilt wearing a good way to educate felow Celts along with those who are not Celts on the joys of kilt wearing.

As far as the wolf whistles, get use to them, it shows non conformity. Don't ya' love it

You my friend are doing such great things for kiltdom

Derek, I did speak at length with him, he was from Cardiff. He now lives in New Zealand, he travels about speaking on Christian Education, parenting etc.

He actually has more of a NZ accent but demonstrated that he can still manage a fine Welsh accent (which I love to hear).
