When I wear a hat its usually just a baseball cap (logo varies). I also wear a Kangol or a Tilly as well. Since I'm pretty casual, I haven't yet found it neccessary to wear a Glengarry or Balmoral.

Andrew, you and I are pioneers in a harsh and unforgiving land
We are in the forefront of an Australian fashion revolution, we are going where no kilts have gone before!
History will remember the Tassie tartan and the Plain Kilted mainlander as two brave souls who paved the way for future freedom lovers and helped establish the world-wide reputation of the sun-bronzed, kilt clad Aussies!
There is indeed hope for us!!
I sense a couple of trendsetters Way to go guys

I shave my head. So I've recently started trying to wear something on my head whenever I go out.
I'm still not kilted, but I suspect I'll wear the same thing when I am. I dont like ballcaps. Or at least, I'm not thrilled about advertising for someone for free.
I recently discovered an awesome bit of headgear online. It's called a Buff. Check them out and watch the demo video at http://www.buffusa.com. They have last year's patterns for cheap at http://www.buyabuff.com. I ordered a plain grey one to see if I liked them and I think they're aewsome.
They have some fleece ones, ones with integrated skull caps, etc. but I think I'll just stick with the classic one.
In the winter, I wear a smartwool beanie. gotta keep the scalp warm or my brain freezes up.

let's see... Kangols (logo to the front, of course), a black porkpie (I AM a Jazz musician after all), one of those military fatigue caps - again in black (it's the official colour of NYC. At least until something darker comes along! ), the occasional beret (probably more often as the weather gets cooler - i actually have a UN peacekeeper beret. That blue is an amazing colour) and I'm looking for something with a wider brim like a short crowned cowboy style hat. I unfortunately fell into the habit of grabbing a baseball cap on my way out the door and am trying to get back to my original hat wearing ways!

mine was given to me by someone who was stationed in the Balkans (a Canadian, natch! ). Unfortunately, during a recent move "someone" stuffed it in a bag with bottles of cologne which, of course, spilled. The colour is kind of blotchy now but I want to get it re-dyed, if possible.

To me it looks like a headscarf or floral towel over the head.
In Australia we are warned so often about skin cancer and the sun.
Only a broad rimmed hat like the Akubra or similar will protect the face agains the sun.
