I bought some 65lb magnets from Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Super-Mag...80HD/202639939), and it seemed like it would work until I trued to use the foot brake. There's just not enough slack in the front to keep the magnet on the right side attached to the gas tank. The left side (shifter) worked fine.

There are indeed some lovely bikes shown in this thread. I do remember we did have a thread a number of years back showing our rides.
The RAT pack (Triumph riders) wear their kilts to RTE events. I have a few customers in that group.
I must say riding a cruiser kilted is a challenge, I found it easier on a sport bike or sport tourer as it is easier to tuck and pinch. The forward leaning position also helps.
In the colder weather I rely on a heated vest, and heated grips. MY ST1100 provides some weather protection as well, so it isn't too bad out there for me.
In the early years of Utilikilt they had photos of the workman's kilt and the model was wearing waffle long johns. That is an option I guess to ride kilted and not worry too much about the kilt flappin in the wind.... reminds me of a song "dust in the wind" change the lyrics to "Kilt's in the wind" ;)

Does one ride kilted? "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind."

I think that was Ian & Sylvia, but if I'm wrong I know there'll be many here to jump in and correct me.

Cheers & ride safely. Kickstand up, rubber down!

When I get home, I will post a pic of my ride. I think the rabble might like it as it is turquoise and antique white and I've gone with a "50s theme" for it.

It makes me sad that kilts aren't more motorcycle friendly.
im not really a safety nazi, but i generally do wear good quality safety gear...Ive spent enough $$ on it, Id better wear it!

I really hate the idea of having an unplanned dismount (crash) while kilted...oooh, the road rash!

So, how does one combine kilts and bikes? Just change when you arrive somewhere?

Bob Dylan wrote it and Peter, Paul and Mary made it famous. But Ian and Sylvia could have sung it! So how old does that make me.

I don't ride kilted, but I do photograph that way!

It is very easy to switch to kilt from jeans though. Take the kilt out of your bags, put it on over your jeans, drop your jeans, put on preferred footwear and you're good to go!
