excellent that you were able to forge ahead!! Re: the bind off, did you try k2tog, then move the stitch back to the left needle and k2tog….repeating until all stitches are off? That's a pretty loose bind-off. Maybe if you do that w/ a needle two sizes larger? and remind yourself to knit looser?

    Good luck!!

Will these socks have a cuff? If so, I work my sock to the last round and leave it on the needles. With separate needles I work the cuff, then slip the sock down through the cuff, just as it will be when it's finally assembled. I then attach the two with my world-famous "three-needle bind-off" using a needle 2 sizes larger than the needles I worked the sock and cuff with.

SOCKKNITTER - no I have not tried that kind of bind off. At first glance it would seem that this would make the sock opening smaller and tighter... Yes I constantly struggle with my tension and knitting too tightly, especially at the bind-off. I will be trying the larger needle trick in the near future.

PIPERDBH - The previous socks I have knit I have had a cuff but I knit these separately thinking this would be a great way to have interchangeable fancy cuffs. The current pair I am knitting is for my wife and I am thinking of doing just what you suggest and binding the two together using a Kitchener stitch.

Thanks again for all the great input!
