My vote is for Lachlan, which is one of our choices for when my wife and I are blessed with a wee bairn of our own. Congratulations, mate!

I like Oswin because he is a character in the Brother Cadfael books by Ellis Peters.

Or Tavish. Either way's good.

Lachlan had my vote also. That was the name of one of my earliest ancestors, 1190 AD, and a prominent name in the Maclaine of Lochbuie clan. You and yours are truly blessed.

Lachlan is nice, but I prefer Angus. The name alone conjures up sights of 'a man's man'.

Lachlan got my vote but (if I may offer a name not often seen these days, and in no way showing some bias) might I suggest BRENNAN? Good Celtic name in the vein of what's already been suggested.

A good name indeed, Bren. I don't wish to derail the thread in the slightest, but here are a few of the names (some of which are connected to both of our families) my bonnie bride and I have tentatively chosen; once we have a couple of wee bairns ourselves...hopefully lads (twins would be ideal!), but any child is a blessing! ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

As a side note, "Tavish" is an interestingly half-Anglicised name. Take it all the way to English and it becomes "Thomas". Go the other direction, back to Gaelic and you have "Tamhais". The "mh" is pronounced as the English "v".
