I started with putting green in the places I've actually lived. By lived I mean for at least two years. I maintained residency in Michigan for six months and only long enough to qualify for my Master's Degree so that does not count.
It would be interesting to have something like this for the entire world, I could put color in a lot of places.

Steve, Ern (& others)... I agree. It would be pretty cool to have a whole-world version of that. But if anyone is feeling particularly inspired, you could maybe send the author an email and ask if he'd be willing to take a stab at it.

I've only ever set foot in three provinces of Canada and three states of USA.
British Columbia is the only Province which I have visited a lot, as I have cousins on Vancouver Island.

Not bad for someone originally from outwith North America (from Scotland), although I have lived in Massachusetts for the past 10 years and visited the States and Canada a few times since I was 12 years old in 1978.

Here is my map. I was in the military and in the Job Corp.
We also did some traveling recently after my wife had cancer.
The second map is my wifes.

Been to quite a bit of Mexico, but not mapable on this site. Still, fun little exercise.
I've missed most of the middle of the US and Canada and hopefully can make up for that in the next decade.
