An alternative to the Maple leaf for fall weather is the German Heritage tartan....

Or my other favorite is the County Cork Crest.

That’s a fine picture of the Royal Canadians in their Maple Leaf kilts and white jackets. But it’s a pity their Argyle hose are not nearer in shade to the autumnal colours of their kilts. The red is too bright.
And Dale, I like your African Grey. My wife says that when she retires (and that’s in about a month’s time) she wants to take in an African Grey chick and teach it to talk.
We have a tomcat that sits on top of the wife when he reckons it’s breakfast time. His claws can be quite sharp. I hope your parrot is gentler when he sits on your head.
Regards,
Mike

I finally made a decision on the Maple Leaf-Lochcarron and called Kelly at USA kilts tonight.Let the Jonesing begin. Dale if I let me yellow-nape Amazon sit on my head while I slept ,he would poke out my eyes, all the time laughing.

I agree, good choice, you won't be disappointed.

That's a great pic I couldn't help but notice that you're a bit "matchy-matchy" with the environment, which is bound to happen in the Fall with the Maple Leaf tartan

They're Lewis hose by House of Cheviot, in Loden:

I don't see Loden as a current color offering in the Lewis line, unfortunately. But from my personal experience, the "Bracken" color from their Rannoch line works very well with Maple Leaf, as it's basically loden which is kind of "heathered" with brownish tones. Claret and Mustard are colors that also go very nicely with this tartan, and all three of these are available in the Rannoch line:

You people are cruel. You just had to keep reopening this thread until I couldn't help myself, didn't you!
I placed my order with Rocky this morning. Let the Jonesing begin.
