    Campsites near Glasgow

My wife has said she might like to go back to Scotland next August for our family holiday. Can anyone suggest any decent campsites close enough to Glasgow for her to max out her credit card in tartan shops?

Martin, if you pick a campsite near Loch Lomond, you can easily drive down to Balloch and get the train into Glasgow.

Yes Simon, I'm sure. She wants several more kilt skirts, a shawl, handbags, etc. etc., etc.
I'll be lucky if I get a kiltpin...

Yeah, but actually trying to find one is the problem. I've found one that is Caravan club member only, one that is public but give no details whatsoever, and one that is Caravan club but open to the public, but gives no pricing...

Try park dean caravans , do 3 and 4 nights , so good to travel around . Your wife is correct about shopping tho , Glasgow is awesome , far better than Edinburgh for shops . Therefor to save money , go to Callander , just a thought , enjoy your visit , cheers

Here's a link to a local site near Hawick. Some of our visitors to Border Rail stay there.
    Two hours drive from Glasgow.
