Well... we got a bit of snow overnight.

It was about 24 hours later than the forecast, but it came for sure - over two feet. Took over an hour just to blow out the laneway, and it's a short one. (No I did not wear my kilt - I bundled up like Nanook of the North.)

This week I've been on vacation, so I wasn't scheduled to say the Mass at church this morning, but the Wardens and the priest who was to replace me made the decision to cancel lest somebody be hurt trying to make it there. Announced it on Facebook, E-mails and Twitter, but we still worry that someone might not know and try to go. On the other hand, we have no snowploughs yet and 4x4s stuck on our street so I don't imagine anyone in the parish got a lot farther than we would have.

Thought you'd like to see a few pix around the house. I'm headed back out in a couple of hours to re-do the laneway etc.

That's a lot of snow for just an overnight storm. It looks like the fluffy stuff and not overly heavy with a lot of water content, although 2 feet of snow is heavy regardless.

That's a lot of snow. I'm not looking forward to it this year. They say we're going to get dumped on (Mid Atlantic definition: 6-12 inches) this year. Personally, the only white I like to see on the ground is sand.

Good grief! You got the snow and we got the cold- it was 3*f (-16*c) when I woke up this morning.

Maybe we could go halfsies next time, I wouldn't mind a foot of snow with weather that was a bit warmer.

Reminds me of growing up in Kapuskasing. They used to call it The Model Town of the North - we used to call it cold.

Yeah. Actually, it was fairly heavy too. Did our lane and walk, and the neighbour lady's lane, then did ours again... probably once more, plus waiting for the city plough!
