    Christmas banquet attire

This fall I've been an adjunct professor in the theatre department of our local university. To celebrate the end of the semester, the students held a Christmas banquet with the faculty as invited guests. I hadn't worn my kilt in a long while so I decided to try it on for size. What do you think?Click image for larger version.

The only tweak I would suggest would be to have a bit of gap between the hose and the kilt. Of course that may look that way due to the camera angle.

Jimbo on the whole I think you look very smart. I presume that being a Christmas banquet it was a fairly formal affair. In which case the long tie goes well with the black Braemar jacket. Good use of belt as you aren't wearing a waistcoat. Sporran at a good height perhaps could have been a tad higher, 3-4 fingers width below the belt would be the norm, but hey who's counting? Be careful with sporran chains, they do wear the fabric of the kilt but good quality chains are great for evening wear. Nice shiny shoes. All told a very nice turn out.
The only thing that holds it back from full marks is where are your knees? We need to see a gap between the bottom of the kilt and the top of the hose. Other than that I think you looked damn smart.

Knees are there, thank you. It's the angle.

Had several very nice comments, mostly "Awesome!" from some students.

Now new girlfriend is waiting for me to take her to an event where I can wear it in her presence. She wasn't able to accompany me to this one unfortunately.
