MacDonald clan shows Highland pride this holiday season
So this holiday season, my family didn't all get together, but i went to visit three of my brothers and their families. I've been on ebay like a fiend this year, and purchased some kit to help augment the Highland wardrobe of some of my relatives. This gift giving provided the perfect excuse to strap on the tartan and pose for some photos.
These were taken on New Year's Day. I had recently gifted my sister in law with that hostess skirt and had just given my brother a new day sporran and hose. Our sweaters/pullovers/jumpers were more different in colour than the photos would lead you to believe.
I already posted the rest of these in another thread but here they are again.
I gave the hostess skirt pictured here to my other sister in law and I also gave the sporran to my nephew. I had originally purchased the sporran for myself thinking it was an adult sporran but alas, it was not. He'll get many years of use from it before he's too large for it. I also gave the baby that Cape Breton tartan onesie a few months ago.
Although my other brothers had all already had kilts, our eldest did not so after getting a very fair deal from a fellow xmarks member, I arrived with a kilt, flashes, hose and sporran for my oldest brother. He wore it to a family function on xmas day and I hear it was a real hit.
My fourth brother lives far away and is a kilt maker (and xmarks member) who is certainly smartly attired without my assistance.
Anyway, this year I found a positive outlet for my online shopping habit and got some nice family photos for our heirloom box that we pass down through the generations in my family.
I thought it would be nice to share these with the fine, upstanding gentlemen and ladies of xmarks.

Wonderful photos, Nathan! Everyone looks quite smart and well tuned out. I have always enjoyed wearing jumpers of all sort with the kilt. Makes for a smart, casual look.
Cheers,
