    I couldn’t resist the comparison.

Sri Lanka (area 65,610 km2) is a bit larger than Skye (area 1,656 km2). About forty times as large.
It is also a bit more cuddly in that the population density is 323 people per square km, whereas Skye is more lonesome with 6.04 people per square km.

Sri Lanka could reputedly by reached from the Indian mainland by foot up to 1480. Skye was only reachable by ferry until 1995 when a bridge was opened.

I hope your sons are happy at their heritage from both islands. I finished my miniature of Talisker at New Year, otherwise I would raise it to your health.

    Hi Jonathan,
Both my boys are extremely proud of their heritage, wear kilts with pride, love most things Scottish, especially the haggis, and keep bugging me for when we're going back to Lankau.
And as my eldest said "there's nothing 'sarong' about wearing a kilt"...

Giggle. I met him at Harpenden and I think he figures in the group photo for that event.

I have to say neither Skye nor Sri Lanka have my ideal temperature...

Yes, he is in one of the pics.

I have to agree - Skye can be damn cold, and so can Columbo, its FREEZING at night!

The more I think about that, the wittier it seems.
