I have always thought that clean living & being good pays off. Once again it paid off.

Its always hard to find out the age of anything, but this helps.

I think Woodwards went out of business in the late '70s.

As kewl as the jacket looked on the rack, when I saw this tag I knew it had to came home with me.

Im not too worried about the leather buttons, all of my tweeds (pre argyll) had them. The patch pockets should make conversion easier. I think Ill just try to go straight across.

What I find so impressive when you dig into the construction of typical jackets from the 60s and 70s is all the added steps that went into the process and were almost taken for granted before the widespread use of adhesives, etc. The jacket I recently converted was by Richman Brothers of Ohio. A mid-priced jacket, I would assume, but it is built like a tank with several very nice touches I wouldn't expect to find on a similar garment today. Those Cleveland garment workers knew what they were doing.

It was a different time.
Back in the day, every decent sized town had a Woodwards. They were all good sized stores with all quality goods.
My mom use to design & make clothing, so I can tell this a well made jacket.
