This is great news. It is extremly dificult to get the older generations kilted. As hard as I try, I know I wil not be able to get my father kilted, and it is through him that I have my Douglas heritage. But, I respect what my father has done. For 35 years he has been a wildland firefighter. From California to New Mexico to Canada he gas strived to do his job, He has never or his crew had to deploy a fire shelter, and never has his crew been treated for any injuries more serious than a scratch. I've watched him risk his life and be treated worse than a red headed step child. People have spit on my father but he has remained above the pettyness of people. Despite what he says, he has helped more people than he will ever know. He is just to modest, and I love him, it hurts to listen to others take credit for his deeds, especially when ones has video evidence of their actions. I have nothing but contempt for those who are so shallow as to claim credit for deeds prformed by others.
