    clarification

I didn't actually step up to the plate, I was hoping to get credit for volunteering while another, better candidate
appeared. Oh, well, with the address being orphaned by work change this close to time, and having
never seen or heard it done, I'll beg patience and forbearance. At least don't bring anything heavy to throw.

Thumbs up Origins of the Stone Put...

A search of YouTube will render quite a few vids on the address to the haggis- I watched one just last night. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find an entire Burns Supper programme on there!

Quick tip: buy all the lads an extra round before the programme begins and I think that'll go a long way to smoothing out your reception during the Address...
    wink, wink, nudge, nudge. ;-)

Seriously though, guid on ye for volunteering! I think if you just have fun with it you'll be fine and everyone will enjoy. And if necessary I will gladly buy you an extra dram before you go on... so no worries!

    See yall tonight! Woo-hoo!

Actually, I said, Michael, can you help a brother out? I'm in great need here. Can you do the Address?

    Michael said, "Well . . ."

"Thanks, man," I answered quickly and hung up!

One of the things I've enjoyed here is that when you ask for help, you usually get it, like when Jim asked and all the people stepped up to push me out front. Or when I asked that nobody bring anything heavy to throw. Though I will say, this being my first Burns Supper, right up 'til about the middle of the address I had thought the neeps and tatties were to be eaten. Kudos to Rocky for teflon coated kilts.

And Thomas is only showing part of the rabble. A fine evening with excellent entertainment, the best haggis you can imagine, and boon companions all around.

Oh, and, tpa, the reiving went pretty well. We almost got caught one time, but tripleblessed kept them busy reciting all of "Tam o Shanter" while we made off with the cattle. We have some pretty good prices on beef if anyone is interested!

I had a great time and thanks to Thomas and his lovely wife for letting me dine with them, as my wife was home with the kids due to babysitter cancelation issues.
I am ready and waiting for next year!

As a MacFarlane we normally do not pay for our beef (we just take it). But I guess I can purchase some from you as long as it is from Clan Colquhoun!
    LOCH SLOY!
    Cheers, Wil
