I have also heard the term "Regimental Pleating" when applied to pleating to the stripe.
Pleating Robertson Hunting to the white stripe will certainly take up twice as much cloth. It's a large sett generally. It's possible, as Barb showed us in the thread re posted by Cousin Steve, but will give VERY deep pleats, about 6 inches deep. To the red stripe is about a 3 inches deep.
YMMV.
Great thread. One of my absolute favourite tartans, though I am admittedly bias.
