Tonight it is The Black Grouse -- Blended Scotch Whisky -- A Marriage Of Fine, Peated Malt Whiskies And The Famous Grouse. I have had quite a few wee drams this evening and I must say, this may displace Dewar's 12 as my go to blended whisky. It has a beautiful amber color, smells of burning tires and medicinal alcohol, and tastes like an incredibly smooth peat monster! Wahoo!

Half way through the 10yo Macallan, so tonight it will be into the Glenmorangie or Bowmore.

If you enjoyed this, you might want to see if you can get hold of "Black Bottle", another blended whisky, that heavily features Islay malts.

Tonight we're back to Amrut, but this time Amrut Fusion. Embarrassed as a Scot to admit how much I like this one, but as a whisky-lover there's not a hint of remorse. Amrut Fusion gets its name from the fact that it uses two barleys: Indian and Scottish - with the latter peated for good measure. It won a Whisky Bible 2014 Award and that's the reason for our tasting tonight. I liked it at GBP44, but at that price I think I'll go back to my Talisker, Ardbeg and Glenmorangie for daily drams.

Felt in the mood for something nice and peaty. Plus... it lends itself quite nicely with my favorite pipe tobacco.

Delivered to my fiance's house this afternoon was my Tiffany crystal decanter filled with Balvenie 18 to rest upon her new wine cabinet. I will have a dram before too long.

On the river bank today we had "fox's blood"(roughly two thirds port, one third brandy), a perfect winter warmer.

I'm enjoying a nice dram of Dun Bheagan 2005 Limited Edition. It's a nice peaty Islay.
