Claymore sporran

Yeah, the claymore bags are a little large. Mine are at my other house, so can't check 'em out right now. It's just in idea I've been kicking around. I think it would be kewl, but maybe not so practical.

I know about that This Side Toward Enemy business. I was actually in front of a claymore, close enough to read the warning, when it was accidentally set off -- really jut a freak accident. It was a wild ride. If I go through with this idea, I'll make sure and keep things pointed the right way.

I have a few. I took out the stitching to make it a single pouch....but it is too much for a sporran. I use it as a satchel to carry extra stuff.

And I kept the instructions in it too... makes me laugh.

I have an old M-249 drum pouch. I've been contemplating doing the same. If I find it, I'll post a picture for you to see what I'm talking about.

Cole, I have some of those pouches, too, with ALICE clips. I've had the same idea. It might work best if the if the webbing and clips were removed from the back, and a couple of d-rings attached, as on the 2qt canteen cover. It would be way tacticool to wear one as a sporran with an old cotton pistol belt, the kind with a brass buckle, as a kilt belt. I'd use some kind of sporran hangers, rather than a separate chain or belt, although a narrow cargo strap, like the ones used to secure odd shaped loads to an ALICE pack frame would work. Perhaps this all seems silly to followers of faux traditions but what would life be without a little silliness.
