    Nothing wrong with them. My favourite sporran is my old one from A&J Scott and co circa 1950. Here it is

    My guess is that what you find unpleasant to look at is the asymmetry of the tassels. If you look at McMurdo's you'll understand that in time they will re-achieve that symmetry as all portions of the leather flare equally - a very pleasant appearance. As a bonus, they'll not likely be quite as loud as they flap about more softly.

    Thanks guys . I'm not that bothered, to be honest, I just feel bad that I kind of leave it lying around sometimes. I shall perhaps start keeping a sporran drawer.

    McMurdo, your all frayed look on your sporran tassels is definitely aesthetically appealing.

    That sporran was my dad`s when he was 13. It really has aged well considering it is 64 years old.

    I have a sporran drawer. Well, it's sporrans, sgianan dubh and belt buckles.
