The majority of my purchases have been made through Scotweb. I have one of their Balmorals, a couple casuals, 3 hand-sewns by Dalgliesh, a PC, several sporrans, a bias-cut waistcoat, hats, and many other accessories from them. I just received one of their shepherd's plaids by Dalgliesh a week ago, and am waiting on a lovat green crail and waistcoat by Dalgliesh. All nice stuff.

My first (and only kilt ) was made by a company called Highland kilt . Its my only kilt so its hard to compare to a hand sewn tank but it seems to wear well and you can pick one up for 89 bucks online . Its a great pub camping kinda kilt but once i save enough i will be ordering a handsewn tank .

Ron, I think Stillwater fills a very important part of the market. If someone is just wanting to try wearing a kilt, paying for a 16 oz tank just isn't on. Even $110 for a USAK casual may be too much. But I know from experience that a SWK Thrifty even can give a newbie at least a taste of what wearing a kilt is like.
When my son gets married in a couple of months, he will be in s USAK Semi-trad. His sons (from a previous mariage) will be in Casuals. But my other young grandsons, who won't be up in front, but want to join in the kilted festivitie? Who haven't stopped growing yet? They'll be in SWK Thrifties. Perfect for that purpose. And what is the quality of a product if not its suitability for a function?
