    Impending Visit to San Francisco

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Bay Area and surrounding communities.

As my wife and I are planning a short visit ( May 31st and June 1st ) to the Bay Area to attend one of my wife's relatives (cuz) nuptials there in San Francisco proper, I'm giving fair warning that I might just slip into my bag one of my kilts. In doing so, it would be great to slip in a short meet and greet with the local Rabble. All this is yet in the planning stages, as there are those pesky family things surrounding the cuz's actual wedding on Sunday June 1st proper.

So, as an exploratory gesture, I'm seeing if anyone local might indeed be up for a short visit, crowded in there somewhere? As it stands, in appears, do to the VERY high cost of parking, we might ditch our car in the Martinez area on Friday at another relatives house, ride the Bart down to stay at the hotel for those two nights downtown near the warf, then return on the Bart to Martinez spending Monday night in the Martinez area. So,hummmmm, where do I slip that kilt, balmoral and accessories.....

    So, let the discussion begin......

( mods, please feel free to adjust the location of this post as I can't decide where exactly it belongs posted)

Have a great trip, Hawk. And, if you get by Ghiardelli Square, please eat something chocolate for me. I love that place!

Start on the waterfront, with clam chowder in a sourdough loaf bowl. Then head for the chocolate. Finally, wash it all down with an Anchor Steam beer. ;)

Sailortats showed me around, you won't meet a nicer guy than Phil and he knows all the good places to see locally.

Many more years ago than I care to think about, on a visit to the USA, I really enjoyed the clam chowder that I tried. One of the things that sticks in the memory along with the beautifull scenery and the hospitality. You should try it.

As soon as someone posts when and where I will be there. If the meet up is on a Saturday, I may not be able to stay very long as I have to be at work in Antioch at 9pm. Sundays work better for me as that is my day off.

So sorry that I will be out of town on those dates. As a newbie, I would have welcomed you to San Francisco and also have had the opportunity to meet fellow locals. Have a great time while in the Bay Area.
