Tonight I am nosing The Glenlivet, a 12-year. I know that Michael Jackson (no, not that one) ranks The Glenlivet higher, yet I believe I enjoy my 10-year Speyburn more. To each his own, I suppose. Slainte!
The problem with any number ranking is that every whisky drinkers palate is different, I too prefer the Speyburn to the Glenlivet. There is a wonderful book calledWHISKY CLASSIFIED, it lists single malts not by ranking but by flavour. Like a particular whisky? Try others that are in the same flavour group or use it like I do, to find out more info on any whisky i find on the shelf.
