That's really pretty fabric. Would you be willing to trade some of my knitting for some of your weaving? PM me if you're interested, please.

Thanks everyone! Thanks poperdbh, but not at the moment, perhaps soon tho. Right now I need to make $ to support my weaving habit. It's a horrible addiction and there's no 12-step program for it. :S

    Thank you all!

I just want to thank everyone for their advice and show you what I am FINALLY able to get going. I had to save $$ to get a loom wide enough for this but I'm finally on my way! We decided that cotton would be a good choice since this piece will be going into a costume (it didn't need to be wool). It's 16/2 cotton set at 36epi (3 threads per dent in a 12 dent reed), 31.8 inches in the reed for a total of 1148 threads in a 2/2 twill.

I'm looking forward to weaving a lot more tartans. I just love doing plaids. I think I like them because they are challenging, as they take a lot of concentration.
