Excellent information, BBNC, but it doesn't really help the OP with his question at all as he is in the UK where the laws of North Carolina are not applicable.

    "Scottish powow." Brilliant, Ron!

BCAC, it is helpful for those of us not in the UK but you are correct about the OP.

Reading this thread, it seems to me that there might be a business opportunity making a folder (ideally something along the lines of a Swiss Army Knife) with Scottish-themed scales.

Im glad to see my thread gets people talking no matter what your view its all good chatter . Id all so like to report I went out at the weekend to a theme park at the weekend with kids with My new Sgian in my sock top and had no problems at all. the only thing I did fined out is that you cant just have the blade part in and the handle out as it wobbles all over with every step I could see if working its way up , definitely would have fallen out if I hadn't pushed it in further.

About an inch to inch and a half of the handle sticking out above the hose top will solve the problem, combined with flashes/garter ties----or in the case of my picture below, GPO elastic bands-------to clamp the whole thing in place.

Very true, Jock, as with so many other things.

If you want to keep your vintage elastic bands in good condition you should store them in cold, dark, dry, oxygen free conditions. A sealed tub in the refrigerator satisfies most of these conditions.

Yes, I understand that, I was just sayin'. I've noticed that while the UK has very strict laws about the carrying of knives, some of the best knife and survival forums seem to originate there.
