    I could not agree more, in the future it really will be nice to see your clan tartan in the photos instead of one that matched the flowers. As far as sliver goes it all depends on the level of formality worn you may want to take a look at 1 kilt 10 looks thread paying attention to the last few entries

    I too wear a cassock-alb to conduct weddings but often wear the kilt under it. For family weddings, it is always a clan tartan.

    For example: from left to right, just before conducting my son's wedding; after conducting my youngest daughter's wedding where the men in the wedding party were in morning dress; and after conducting a wedding where most of the men were in Highland morning dress.
