The Luxury Traditional Kilts by Scotweb are made by D.C. Dalgliesh, no matter where the fabric comes from.

My Dalgleish-woven and made 10 yarder is a thing of beauty, and will undoubtedly outlast me. I ordered it through the Scottish Tartans Museum in Franklin, NC, which because it's only and hour and a half away, I was able to go for measuring before ordering, and fit checking after it arrived. I felt the price was more reasonable than Scotweb.

just got a mail from scotweb. many costumers wanting tartan from another mill in the Dc Dalgliesh kilt. The tartan that I opted for is from a high quality Scottish mill.

Lochcarron, House of Edgar, D.C. Dalgliesh, Marton Mills, etc, are all high quality mills.

I haven't seen or felt DC Dalgleish cloth (I think their 'Heavyweight' is only 15 ounces anyway) but of all the other mills Lochcarron Strome is the best in my opinion.
The Kilt is my delight !

I like Locharron Strome as well. I am also an avid fan of D.C. Dalgliesh's heavyweight tartan, which has a tighter weave than that of Lochcarron and feels smoother to the touch. I have kilts from both mills. As far as overall weight is concerned, I don't feel one bit of difference between the 15 ounce and the 16 ounce.

That's interesting to know. The trouble is I can't afford a DC Dalgleish kilt just now

Completely understandable! Unless you select from their in-stock tartans, having a custom weave done can be quite expensive.
