I've never had issues with that happening in my semi-trads. A potion of that may be form in sitting down, though. You can find topics here on it, but here's what I generally do when possible: "sweep" the pleats to the right, and if possible put my weight down from left to right also. This is, obviously, not possible in a left-hand drive vehicle; what I do in that instance is sit down as described shifted 90 degrees, then turn right to the correct position behind the wheel. Following these guidelines, I've had essentially no issues, up to and including driving down to the Scottish Tartan Museum (which is roughly a two hour drive).
