Glen Ord.
Have to confess that I'm not much of a whisky person, so no doubt it'll end up getting washed down with several bottles of San Miguel Pale Pilsner and/or Tsing Tao Premium.

Tonight, I had a few more wee drams of The Glenlivet 12. Um, um, good.

Allen: I can't one-up you, but I can one-down you.
I drank a dram, or two, of Glenfiddich 12 on the rocks while my wife and I watched "Jane Eyre", the version with Zelah Clarke and Timothy Dalton made in 1983 - one of my favorites. The screenplay is excellent, given the difficulty of translating the novel to the screen, and both actors were perfect for their parts.

For me it was Glenlivet 15 "French Oak Reserve", my favorite "oakey" scotch, while watching the first four episodes of "Monarch of the Glen".

Celebrated the Fourth by finishing off a bottle of Arbeg Uigeadail with a dear neighbor whose maternal grandparents and sons emigrated from Dumfries to the US in the 1830s, and who delightfully breaks out into songs by Harry Lauder, especially after having a "wee drappie".

Now that's a good coincidence, Mackenzie. Aberlour 12 at our staff table tonight.

Not long after my girlfriend and I met, I gave a bottle of Aberlour 12 to her mom to "break the ice". Worked liked a charm....
