My accomodations are very close to the shop, so I will be able to walk back & forth easily.

Someone should be able to pick you up at the bus depot. Send a note (if you have not already done so) to bobbie@freedomkilts.com, indicating time.

If you decide you want to come over for just a night, I am sure we can find a space to sleep in our house...it would likely be a sofa bed, but the fee is reasonable (your company!). I could always pick you up at the bus station....
Hope the arm is doing better...!

Leather Thimbles
I haven't gotten around to making my leather thimbles yet. Hope to get a few done in time. I have thin steel strips, about as wide as my large-ish fingers, plenty of leather, like half a hide, both in pure white and brown, and some glue. I don't have a hot glue gun, as Barb uses, but I did get some general purpose glue at the hardware store that is supposed to be both very strong and flexible. I you're having a problem with thimbles, let me know and I'll bring stuff to make them, as I have plenty of material -- unless someone else already has this base covered.

Less than a week to Kilt Kamp! Steve and I were at the shop getting the spreadsheet organized for transporting people..... Two trips (possibly three) to the airport (sigh, everyone is coming in at a different time!), two trips to the bus depot, one trip to the COHO ferry downtown. We have stocked up on necessities for the shop -- coffee, kilt making supplies, toilet paper, Harlan-and-Okiwen-wacking sticks (to make them behave), interesting other beverages, .... We have laid out the rooms and phew - all the tables and chairs will fit. The neighbourhood has been alerted to the invasion, and the machine guru, Bill Murray, is going to stop by and tune up the sewing machines ("Minerva is getting cranky."). I think we are ready...

I have no idea what the problem is. Harlan is well behaved and almost house-broken.

Great news Bobbie. I'm really looking forward to it. If it helps, my suitcase has wheels, so if the airport is uphill than the shop I can ride it downtown. (Hmmm, I'm thinking you might need another stick.)

I can see it now.....strange out-of-towners, riding suitcases into Victoria down the Pat Bay Highway. It would make the local news show!
