It was a longtime goal of mine to put together a Black Watch kit, ever since I saw them perform here in 1976. I've seen them every tour since!
The kit above would have been worn with the khaki (drab) serge wool Service Dress tunic 1908-1953, indeed from 1914-1953 it was the dressiest kit available. It was also worn with the Battle Dress jacket.
Or, pop a pith helmet on my head, and I'm in the same kit as the piper seen here
