Wear the Kilt with pride. My ancient signature here was "Kilted with pride". So indeed wearing it with confidence you will be fine.

My wife's mother is French and traditionally the French have a positive impression of the Scots.
She loves my kilts and loves Scotland. Obviously this is just one woman's opinion but I suspect you will be just fine.

Paris is a great place for a kilt. After all, Parisians and -ennes are among the world's most appreciative of high fashion.

I always wear kilts in Paris - ever since I realised that the quality of service was so much higher when wearing a kilt. My french is pretty poor and I am always conscious of my schoolboy french, but wearing a kilt it seems I am forgiven even by the most Parisian of waiters.
Enjoy!
Best wishes - Harvey.

Kilt on! Let no man tell you otherwise, you wear what you want, and where you want! There is great honor and pride in the kilt, and when you put it on you also wear that pride and honor like a badge. I know when I'm kilted I stand a bit taller, walk a bit more confidently, and hold my head higher.
So go ahead and strut around Paris kilted..... Eiffel Tower? Meh, look at that gentleman in the kilt!

Yes, that's my experience too. I'm in Paris quite a lot: Parisians love a snappy dresser, and interesting clothes, so that adds to it. Also it marks you as "not-English" (sorry)
